Candida: Causes, DANGERS and Remedies

by Linda Allen

With already 10 species of Candida linked to fungal infections in humans, a total of around 150 species have been identified to date. These organisms are often found in the moist areas of the human body, such as the intestines, skin, mouth and sexual organs.

Candida albicans is the most frequently occurring of Candida species, causing between 80% and 95% of Yeast Infections in humans. Candida glabrata is the second most common species which is responsible for milder infections, but which can still lead to health difficulties.

Healthy people harbor at least some yeast bacteria. Normally, other bacteria called probiotics which are beneficial to humans, balance out the Candida, which have little potential to do damage. It is when Candida microbes start to grow and multiply unchecked that Candida infection sets in.

Candida overgrowth means Yeast Infection as the most common result. This medical condition can happen either locally (sexual organs, mouth, skin or nails) or throughout most of the body. The symptoms usually resulting from local infection due to Candida include an unpleasant burning sensation, redness in rashes, and/or unusual discharge in the domain that is infected. Systemic infection of Candida however displays most commonly the symptoms of recurring fatigue, drowsiness, lethargy, aching muscles, reactions to certain foods and/or allergies. Any type of Yeast Infection can cause severe pain and distress, and can therefore degrade one's quality of life.

The holistic solution differs fundamentally from conventional cures in the way that it treats Candida infection. Although research on Candida overpopulation remains incomplete, physicians and alternative therapists are of the same mind by agreeing that it is brought on in the main by a combination of factors that encompass diet, lifestyle, and genetic characteristics (which cannot be controlled) as well as a deficient immune system.

The real causes that trigger Yeast Infection are left untouched by conventional medicaments. When these underlying factors responsible for Candida multiplication are ignored, a person is immediately at risk for much more serious health complications. As an example, the prescription of steroid creams may be made to soothe inflamed areas, rashes and burning sensations, but this is simply conventional medicine trying to reduce the symptoms of candidiasis. The use of antibiotics to kill bacteria is a further example. Sadly, antibiotics cannot distinguish between "bad" and "good" bacteria that work in the human body to stave off recurring infections. This means that with more antibiotic treatment, Yeast Infection will get worse.

The primary objective of the holistic remedy is to naturally re-establish inner balance and to reinforce the immune system by putting in place a full agenda of diet and lifestyle changes, detox, herbal treatment and defined supplements. The all-natural holistic approach targets the resolution of the fundamental causes as well as the outer symptoms of Candida infection. Use of the holistic approach will in general root out the basic cause of Candida infection to prevent it once and for all from coming back, and to boost your level of health and well being in general.
